PREPARING STUDENTS FOR THE FUTURE
-
Drafting and Engineering I
-
This course is an introduction to Technical Drawing and is a beginning course for anyone interested in a field in engineering. In the first nine weeks of this semester course students will be trained in traditional sketching techniques in the areas of: single, multiple view and isometric drawings. Lettering and dimensioning techniques are included in this training. During the second half of this semester course students will be trained on Computer Aided Drawing using AutoCAD 2015 and Autodesk Fusion 360 or Trimble Sketchup. Students who wish to pursue a career in Engineering, or Industrial Technology are strongly urged to take Drafting and Engineering II. Students in this course are strongly encouraged to participate in the Illinois Drafting Educators Association (IDEA) competition.

Drafting and Engineering II
-
This two-semester project-based course designed for students who are going to pursue a career in engineering. This course will help prepare students by optimizing the instruction based on the students anticipated career path (Architectural or Mechanical). Students will complete design challenges throughout the year while perfecting their skills using the Autodesk Software. This class requires all students to participate in the SkillsUSA competition held each year.
